Raipur (Chhattisgarh) [India], April 23 (ANI): Chhattisgarh minister Tank Ram Verma paid a visit to the family of Dinesh Miraniya on Wednesday, who was killed during the Pahalgam terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir.
“This is a very sad incident, and the shocking incident done through terrorists, of shooting people, I condemn it strongly. We are shocked by this incident. Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai has ensured that the body of Dinesh Miraniya will be brought here to Raipur. We expect they will reach by 2-3 PM,” the state minister told ANI.
Calling the attack against humanity, he said that the local administration has been informed that the last rites of Dinesh will be performed with the family in Raipur itself.
“This is against humanity, through the government, the zilla parishad has also been given instructions that the last rites of Dinesh Miraniya will be performed, and it will be given the utmost respect while happening with family,” he said.
Minister Verma also condemned the targeting of tourists allegedly on the basis of religion, telling ANI, “This is very wrong, to target someone on the basis of religion, it is not their fault. People had gone to travel for their anniversary, but those people have been targeted.”
Meanwhile, Chhattisgarh CM Vishnu Deo Sai expressed confidence that Prime Minister Narendra Modi would give a befitting reply to the attack.
“We strongly condemn the cowardly act by terrorists in Pahalgam, Kashmir yesterday and express our condolences to the deceased. The Prime Minister was on a visit to Saudi Arabia, but he returned, cutting short his visit. Ever since PM Modi has come to power, the country has been responding to terrorist attacks, and this attack will definitely be responded to as well,” the Chief Minister said.
The tragedy that has shaken not just Kashmir but the entire country took place yesterday, where innocent tourists were killed, making it one of the biggest terror attacks after the abrogation of Article 370 in 2019.
Political parties as well as traders’ unions in the region today collectively called for a complete shutdown in the Kashmir valley in solidarity with the victims’ families and condemnation of the attack. (ANI)
